VIDEOS
For the videos, I uploaded them to Vimeo (as Jack suggested) and then embedded the vimeo code into my html page. This really is the easiest way to add my videos without slowing the overall download of the site as a whole.
In order to get my text to align to the right of my videos, I used the same div tags as my design.html and then used CSS - keeping it simple and universal.
JAVASCRIPTING
I did a javascript class a while back and remembered a few tips to presenting a portfolio - see below.
This works for the website now, however when I add more material to it will become annoying. What I mean is that at the moment to enlarge each photo you have to click on the individual thumbnail and then close it to look at another. In future I will adjust the coding to allow the user to scroll through them much like the JAVA for Facebook... this will take a bit of time though.
HTML Pages
The website at first glance appears to be made up of 4 pages in total, however I wanted to keep it clean and easy to navigate.
As you navigate through the site, you will notice that the portfolio is made up of many "sub htmls" such as the design page - see below:
I have used back and next tabs to flip through the projects while the top navigation allows the user to go back to the main design page. Setting my pages up this way allows me to place a blurb about each project and allow the viewer to look at the work as an individual piece rather than as a complete portfolio.
In future I would like to incorporate more Javascript to animate these pages making it easier to navigate. I would also place the navigation in a more prominent position as it moves with each page which can get a little confusing. This just needs to be fixed with div tags however my Dreamweaver keeps quitting on the uni computers so I'm just submitting this for the time being.
WEBSITE complete
Well I've worked on the coding over the weekend and got a site that runs smoothly using HTML, CSS and JAVASCRIPT.
The design is a little plain at the moment, but I wanted to focus on displaying the artwork properly before I got too carried away with a design.
I'm not entirely happy with this yet, however I've been constrained for time these past few weeks work 50 hour weeks.
This what I'll be submitting however I'm going to develop the design more for my own personal use... this could take some time as when it comes to stuff for myself I can never come to a decision.

Tutorials and Resources
Rather than use tables to do my coding, I would like to focus on my CSS coding using div tags.
I've done a couple of web classes a few years ago and have been looking at various tutorials to try and jog my memory.
Below are a few screenshots of web tutorials I have found particularly interesting.
So far webdesignerwall.com has been the most useful as it is a website developed by a graphic and web designer to showcase aesthetically pleasing websites and then demonstrating how they were developed. There are also many tutorials on using CSS, XHTML, WordPress etc as well as incorporating the Adobe Creative Suite.
Web Design Shell Scheme
After much deliberation, I've decided I'd like to create a website using a fairly minimal design with little text. My previous portfolio web designs looked very busy and I found the design sometimes clashed with the artwork I was exhibiting. it is for this reason I will be using a dark background as a setting.
I plan to use a thumbnail gallery as part of my navigation - this will be done using Java.
Here is a quick concept drawing of the shell scheme I plan to develop.

Portfolio
I have worked as a graphic designer for 5 years now, so my portfolio naturally has become quite large....
The task of selecting only a few piece will be long and tedious.
I am currently working on the portfolio for my design firm as well so this project will be great practice for me in terms of learning how to identify what the audience really wants to see and not add too much content.
Below are a few examples of what I intend to include:
